Now that you already know Rio de Janeiro and the amazing things that you can do there( if not click here) I want to introduce you to one of the most beautiful and relaxing place that I’ve been in my life: Búzios!

On my vacation this year I decided put my foot on the road (does this expression exist in english?) . My husband and I rented a house through Airbnb and called everybody to enjoy five days in Búzios with us.

Búzios is a city at the lake region that is 180km away from Rio. There you will discover 26 different beaches. I chose the most popular one: Geribá Beach.

Búzio also have a worldwide famous nudist beach called Olho de Boi beach, so if you don’t like to expose your figure don’t visit this place! hahahah

50 years ago Brigitte Bardot chose Búzios for her vacation as well and this small peninsula went on all newspapers covers changing forever the life of that fishing village.

If you are asking who is that woman She is a french former actress, singer and fashion model, who later became an animal rights activist. She was one of the best known sex symbols of the 1950s and 1960s.

Today, in appreciation, Bardot is the name of  the edge where you will find great restaurants, traditional or international ones.  I had the opportunity to eat in some of the restaurants and If you want a recommendation you should go to Bar do Zé.

Don’t loose the chance of walking at the Rua das pedras or Stone’s Street in English.  That is the meeting point where everybody goes after the beach day to eat, buy at the boutiques or just to see other people.

Seriously if one day you go to Brazil take at least 3 days to spend in Búzios and find out why Brigitte Bardot elected this place as her secret paradise!

Watch this video and you will have an ideia about how I spend my time in Búzios!!

  1. I agree with all the places Gerson pointed, but there are so many places, 3 days in Rio are not nearly enough, you need at least 10 to know the city better. What are the must interesting things to do in Rio de Janeiro if only spending three days there?
